Phnom Penh, December 14, 2023 --

The Royal Government of Cambodia will continue to actively participate in the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) to achieve a common mission for a peaceful and prosperous Asia.

The commitment was reaffirmed by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, while receiving a courtesy visit from H.E. Chung Eui-yong, Chairperson of the ICAPP Standing Committee and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh this morning.

Samdech Thipadei also thanked ICAPP for supporting Cambodia's democratic process, as well as for sending observers to participate in the Cambodian election process in the past until the seventh mandate. ICAPP’s presence and statements on the realities of the practice of democracy in Cambodia really contribute to defending the legitimacy, justice and sovereignty of Cambodia's elections, he underlined.

For his part, H.E. Chung Eui-yong informed the Cambodian Premier about key activities of ICAPP in promoting the cooperation and exchange of views between political parties in Asia.

He expressed his conviction that under the wise leadership of Samdech Thipadei, Cambodia will continue its development even stronger towards achieving its 2050 vision.

H.E. Chung Eui-yong wished Cambodia more success in hosting the 12th ICAPP General Assembly, the 3rd Asian Cultural Council (ACC) Meeting, and related meetings in November 2024.
