Dr. Kao Kim Hourn Receives President of China Institute of Reform and Development and Delegation of China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat

Phnom Penh, December 14, 2023 --

H.E Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN, met with Mr. Chi Fulin, President of the China Institute for Reform and Development, on the morning of December 13, 2023, at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The two sides exchanged views on ways to further strengthen ASEAN-China economic and trade cooperation, especially within the framework of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP), as well as regional cooperation of Blue economy.

In the afternoon, H.E Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN, received a delegation from the China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat (CAEXPO) led by Dr. WEI Zhaohui, Secretary-General.

Both sides exchanged views on the 21st CAEXPO in September 2024, especially as 2024 was chosen as the year of people-to-people exchanges between ASEAN and China.

In the evening of December 13, 2023, at the official residence of the Ambassador of Canada to ASEAN in Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia, H.E Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN, attended the unveiling ceremony of the new ASEAN-Canada Strategic Partnership.
