Phnom Penh, September 06, 2023 —

The Royal Government has established a National Committee for Coordinating Information and Public Views to protect Cambodia's achievements, work, and good image. Prime Minister Samdech Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet signed a sub decree, dated on Sept. 1, outlining the full organisation and functioning of the national committee.

The national committee will assist the Royal Government in its coordination of information and public opinion in order to monitor, raise awareness, explain, and maintain Cambodia's positive image.

Operating under the direct supervision of the Council of Ministers, the committee will also act to safeguard national sovereignty and promote effective and timely reaction to fake news and misinformation.

The National Committee for Coordinating Information and Public Views is comprised of one chair (a Senior Minister), four vice chairs (the first of whom is the Minister of Information), and six members.
