Phnom Penh, June 21, 2024 -

China on Thursday voiced strong opposition to the recent US decision to impose sanctions on Chinese companies over so-called Russian involvement.

He Yadong, a spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce, told a news conference that sanctions were not based on international law and had no mandate from the UN Security Council.

He said such actions were a normal act of unilateral threats and economic coercion.

He said the US side should immediately stop its unreasonable pressure on Chinese companies, adding that China will take all necessary measures to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises without change. .
