Cambodia, Türkiye Promote Cooperation On Media And Communication Sector

The Royal Government of Cambodia and the Government of the Republic of Türkiye have agreed to promote their bilateral cooperation on media, communication, and broadcasting.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the field of media and communications was signed on May 28, in Ankara, by H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Prof. Fahrettin Altun, Head of Communications in the Turkish presidency, during the former’s official visit to Türkiye.

Under the MoU, the two countries will encourage and promote cooperation in areas of communications and digital literacy, combating fake news, public diplomacy, and media and broadcasting.

The participants will endeavour to strengthen, promote and develop cooperation in media, communications and broadcasting between the two countries on the basis of reciprocity and mutual benefits.

The participants will mutually decide that the form of cooperation under the MoU will be carried out through exchange of information and experiences; sharing of best practices and experiences; collaboration on initiatives and projects of mutual benefit and interest; convening meetings, seminars, workshop, trainings and conferences; and promoting the exchange of visits between officials and experts in the areas of media, communications and broadcasting.

The seven-paragraph MoU enters into effect on the date of signing and will remain in effect for a period of three years.
