Cambodia, Russia Boosting Effective Legal Cooperation

Phnom Penh, March 20, 2024 --

Cambodia's Ministry of Justice and the Russian Embassy in Phnom Penh have agreed to establish a joint mechanism for more effective implementation of legal cooperation.

The move was shared during a meeting between H.E. Koeut Rith, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, and H.E. Anatoly Borovik, Ambassador of Russia to Cambodia, in Phnom Penh on Mar. 19.

They also discussed the progress of bilateral relations between Cambodia and Russia on legislation, including the addition to the implementation of a treaty on the transfer of prisoners.

Cambodia and Russia have entered into agreements on extradition and legal aid to promote comprehensive legal cooperation between the two countries.
