Cambodian PM Says Youth Plays Core Role In National Development

Phnom Penh, March 14, 2024 --

Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, said the youth has been playing a key role in the country’s development in all fields and encouraged them to further maintain the achievements of the previous generation and build a strong foundation for the next generation.

Addressing the closing ceremony of a meeting of the Central Committee of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC) held here at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel this morning, Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister expressed his deepest gratitude to the former Cambodian youths who had volunteered and sacrificed their lives to start a national liberation movement to save Cambodia from the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime and continue to protect, restore and develop the country until today.

The Premier added that the UYFC’s main task is to develop a method of attracting sympathy, creativity and flexibility to be able to inspire young people to participate in the national cause by walking hand in hand on the path of peace towards progress in the spirit of strong solidarity, and build a strong modern society with independence, peace, freedom, equality, democracy and high productivity, which are the key to strengthen the national economic foundation, he underlined.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet encouraged all Cambodian youths to continue this noble spirit, will and action, which is the basis of a positive influence in educating the mindset and attitude of the youths of all walks of life to continue to build the nation to be more and more prosperous with the vision of becoming a high-income economy by 2050.
