Ministry of Post Builds US$30 million National Data Centre

Phnom Penh, July 19, 2023 --

The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications kick-started here on July 19 the construction of the National Data Centre, funded byy a national budget of nearly US$30 million.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, H.E. Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, said that the National Data Centre is important for the public and private sectors in Cambodia to take advantage of the data to promote the development of their institutions and it marks a major step forward for Cambodia in the digital revolution.

“The National Data Centre will be a place to collect and store government data and company data from key sectors by providing a secure and reliable modern technology infrastructure as well as benefits to institutions such as data sovereignty, money saving and capacity strengthening for a better service provision,” he said.

Located in Sangkat Srah Chak, Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh, the 12-storey building of 36 metres wide and 63 metres long of the Tier IV National Data Centre will be completed in 2025.
