Phnom Penh, January 06, 2024 --

A total of 11,747 electors will join Cambodia's Senate election for the fifth legislative term slated for Feb. 25, 2024.

A member of the National Election Committee (NEC), H.E. Heng Sileng, revealed the figure in a meeting with stakeholders at the NEC office on Jan. 5.

The eligible electors include 125 members (17 female) of the National Assembly and 11,622 commune councillors (2,568 female), he added.

The preliminary voter list was published both physically and online (at voterlist.nec.gov.kh and via a mobile App named 'NEC KH') on Jan. 5, with a five-working-day period for legitimate complaints or corrections.

The Capital-Provincial Election Commissions will be the first level of complaint settlement, and if a complaint cannot be resolved there, it will be escalated to the NEC and finally to the Constitutional Council.

Four political parties will run for the Senate election, including the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), Khmer Will Party, FUNCINPEC Party, and National Power Party.
