National Report on Cambodia’s 2022 Economic Census Launched

Phnom Penh, December 26, 2023 --

The national report on Latest Results of Cambodia’s 2022 Economic Census was launched this morning contributing to the process of monitoring and evaluating the implementation of socio-economic development policies and plans at both the national and sub-national levels.

The launching ceremony was held under the presidency of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The once-in-a-decade economic census, compiled by the Ministry of Planning was conducted from Mar. 1 to 31 of 2022 and the results have been set to be presented in 2023 after data processing and analysis.

The census will provide information on the current situation of businesses in Cambodia. The policymakers, government officials at national and local levels, international organisations, NGOs, private sector, researchers, and development partners can use the census data effectively.

All information from the census is real data from all economic entities, enterprises, handicrafts, businesses, wholesalers, retailers and services.

The economic census, which is conducted every 10 years, identifies business owners, factories, enterprises, handicrafts, wholesalers, and all services for participation.

Cambodia conducted its first economic census in 2011.
