Japan Provides Almost US$1.4 Million for Reconstruction Support with Cluster Munitions Disposal and Demining in Two Provinces

Phnom Penh, December 20, 2023 --

The Government of Japan will provide US$ 1,390,117 in total to implement two projects - ‘Reconstruction Support with Cluster Munitions Disposal in Stung Treng: RSCS (Year 3)’ and ‘Reconstruction Support with Demining in Banteay Meanchey: RSDB (Year 3)’.

The Grant Contract was signed here on Dec.19 between H.E. UENO Atsushi, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia and the representatives of Japan Mine Action Service (JMAS), the recepient organisation.

“We believe that the grant assistance will improve the quality of life for people in the project area," the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia said.

The grant was made under the framework of the Grant Assistance for Japanese NGO Projects.
