Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol To Commemorate The 10th Anniversary Of China’s Principle

On Tuesday morning, October 24, 2023, Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, attended an international conference to commemorate the 10th anniversary of China's Principle of Amity, Sincerity, Mutual Benefit, and Inclusiveness in Neighborhood Diplomacy, in Beijing, China.

The international conference was chaired by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and attended by senior officials from 20 other countries.

Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol pointed in his address to the significant positive results of the diplomatic relations between Cambodia and China based on the four principles of friendship, honesty, mutual benefit and the inclusiveness initiated by Chinese President Xi Jinping 10 years ago.

Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol said that the Belt and Road program has helped the Cambodian people out of poverty and promote the social and economic development of Cambodia towards the goal of being a country with a high economy by 2050. Inclusive development is already evident, such as the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Framework, which provides a lot of cooperation and understanding to countries in the region.

The Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister further said that the Belt and Road Program has helped push the wealthy islands to expand while the sea of poverty has been reduced.

The Deputy Prime Minister also encouraged the Cambodian and Chinese sides to continue their cooperation for the common benefit of all people.
