Women’s Affairs Ministry and Partner Work to Improve Women’s Financial Inclusion

Phnom Penh, August 11, 2023 --

The Ministry of Women’s Affairs in collaboration with the Women’s World Banking organised here on Aug. 10 a workshop on “Establishing the Foundation Blocks: Accelerating the Expansion of Women’s Financial Inclusion in Cambodia”.

The event was presided over by H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi, Minister of Women’s Affairs, H.E. Rath Sovannorak, Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, and Ms. Christina Maynes, Head of Southeast Asia and Regional Director at Women’s World Banking.

According to the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, some 30 officials from government ministries, development agencies, banks and financial institutions attended the workshop aiming to collect inputs and consult on key principles for improving women’s financial inclusion in Cambodia.

The discussion touched on an understanding of the fundamental building blocks required to ensure equity of women’s financial inclusion in the Kingdom.
