Phnom Penh: Cambodia's total trade volume (exports and imports) in 2024 increased by nearly 17%, reflecting a robust economy and the growing international trade relations.

According to data released by the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia on January 10, 2025, the total trade volume of Cambodia reached 54.74 billion USD in 2024, an increase of 16.9% from 46.82 billion USD in 2023.

The same data also showed that from January to December 2024, Cambodia exported goods worth approximately 26.19 billion USD, up by 15.7%, while imports of various goods amounted to 28.54 billion USD, an increase of 18% compared to 2023.

Key trading partners of Cambodia include China, the United States, the European Union, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, Canada, Indonesia, and the United Kingdom. However, the United States remains Cambodia's largest export market, followed by the European Union, Vietnam, and China.

Additionally, Cambodia benefits from various trade agreements, including being a member of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and the Cambodia-China Free Trade Agreement (CCFTA), which have facilitated access to larger markets and reduced customs duties.

This trade growth is the result of the government's efforts to expand export markets and encourage investment. Moreover, the Cambodian government has adopted a trade policy as a strategy for integration into regional and global trade networks.

Furthermore, this trade growth also reflects the improving domestic production cycle and the resilience of Cambodia's economy, as well as the growing economies of Cambodia's key trading partners, such as the United States, China, some European Union countries, and ASEAN members.

Key exports of Cambodia include garments, footwear, travel goods, agricultural products like rice, cashews, cassava, and rubber, furniture, automotive parts, solar panels, bicycles, electrical materials, electronic components, and vehicle parts.

On the other hand, Cambodia's key imports include raw materials for the garment industry, fuel, electronics, vehicles and machinery, construction materials, consumer goods, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and medical equipment.
