Three Cambodian Athletes to Join a Kun Khmer Competition in the UK

Phnom Penh, December 18, 2024 --

Three Cambodian athletes will participate in a Kun Khmer competition to be held at Liverpool in the United Kingdom on the night of Dec. 21.

This will be a new history to promote Khmer martial arts to the world, said H.E. Khov Chhay, President of Kun Khmer Federation in a press conference in Phnom Penh on Dec. 17.

The event will be the second time for Kun Khmer in the UK, and it reflects the values of Kun Khmer on international arena, emphasised the federation’s president.

He added that in early 2025, Kun Khmer prepares to attend competitions in France, Spain, and so on. Kun Khmer has so far been promoted in China, Korea, Japan, France, and Australia.

According to Mr. Sreu Sreng, Kun Khmer Promoter and Head of Delegation of Kun Khmer athletes to the UK, the three participating athletes include Mr. Hong Sovann Chansothy, Mr. Thun Sihong, and Mr. Som Vichhay. They will meet their British opponents in 61kg, 57kg, and 63.5kg categories, respectively.
