Cambodian PM to Participate in a Series of Summits in China This Week

Phnom Penh, November 04, 2024 --

Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will take part in a series of Summits in Kunming, Yunnan province, the People's Republic of China from Nov. 6 to 7.

Those upcoming summits include the 8th Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) Summit under the theme "Toward a Better Community Through Innovation-driven Development, the 10th Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit under the theme "Towards Seamless Connectivity for Mekong Sub-regional Integration", and the 11th Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam (CLMV) Summit under the theme "Friendship and Solidarity for Resilient and Prosperous Community", pointed out the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in a press release issued this morning.

The summits will review overall achievements and chart future directions to widen cooperation and further promote mutual trust as well as strengthen partnerships among member countries, contributing to socio-economic development and enhancing the well-being of peoples in the region, underlined the source, adding that they will also demonstrate the significance of sustained peace and long-term sustainable development and peaceful co-existence among member countries.

During his stay in Kunming, it continued, Samdech Thipadei is expected to have bilateral meetings with foreign leaders and business people.

Samdech Thipadei will be accompanied by H.E. Deputy Prime Minister Sok Chenda Sophea, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Senior Minister Chhieng Yanara, ministers, along with key government officials and business leaders from the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and the Cambodian Oknha Association.
