Cambodia, S. Korea Sign Collaboration Agreement in Education
Phnom Penh, October 24, 2024 --
Cambodia and the Republic of Korea have reached a Letter of Agreement (LoA) on strengthening and expanding their cooperation in the educational sector.
The agreement was inked by H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth, and Sports and H.E. Park Jung-Wook, the Republic of Korea's Ambassador to Cambodia in Phnom Penh on Oct. 23.
The agreement aims to provide Korean classes as a formal subject at 15 targeted schools in Cambodia, increase the efficiency of project implementation by promoting cooperation between implementing institutions and concerned stakeholders, and identify conditions and commitment of each party to facilitate the operation of Korean classes as a formal subject in Cambodia's targeted schools.
H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron spoke highly of the Korean government's commitment to promoting cooperation with Cambodia in all sectors, particularly in the education field through many projects.
Those projects have contributed significantly to Cambodia's human resources development in line with the Royal Government's Pentagonal Strategy-Phase 1 toward achieving the Kingdom’s vision of 2030 and 2050.
