Angkor Sankranta 2025 to Return with Bolder Gains
Phnom Penh, October 22, 2024 --
An organiser of another grand event of Angkor Sankranta in Siem Reap planned for April 2025 has unveiled the celebration's bolder social unity, cultural, tourism, and economic targets.
Director of Siem Reap Provincial Administration Mr. Ly Vannak, who is part of the event's organising team, shared the insight following a recent site inspection by Governor of Siem Reap Province H.E. Prak Sophoan and H.E. Sok Sabayna, the Executive Team Leader of Angkor Sankranta of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC).
The large-scale cultural event in the Angkor area of Siem Reap province aims to encourage the public, including the youth, to celebrate the traditional Khmer New Year as one Khmer family, said Mr. Ly Vannak.
The event will inspire the Cambodian people, especially the younger generation, to be proud of being Cambodian and to cherish the culture, civilisation, traditions, and customs while showcasing the diversity of the Khmer culture among foreign visitors.
He continued that the celebration will feature a broad range of festivities, tourism products, as well as hospitality services to attract national and international tourists to the province and Cambodia at large.
The Angkor Sankranta will also provide opportunities for tour agencies and tourism business operators to accelerate their sales, he added.
