Cambodian Lawmakers Take Part in AIPA Organizing Committee Meeting
Phnom Penh, October 21, 2024 --
Senior Cambodian lawmakers took part in a meeting of the Committee on Organisational Matters of the 45th AIPA General Assembly hosted by the Lao National Assembly this morning.
Cambodia was represented by H.E. Suos Yara, Chairman of the National Assembly Commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Information, H.E. Ly Chheng, Vice-Chairman of the National Assembly Commission on Public Transport, Civil Aviation, Post, Telecommunications, Industry, Science, Technology, Innovation, Mining, Energy, Commerce, Land Management, Urbanisation, and Construction, and H.E. Hou Sry, Member of the National Assembly.
According to the Cambodian National Assembly’s news release, the meeting discussed and approved the following resolutions:
- Resolution on Audited Financial Report 2023- 2024;
- Resolution on Budget Proposal for the AIPA Secretariat for Period of 01 August 2024 to 31 July 2025;
- Resolution on the Amendments to the AIPA Statutes;
- Resolution on Adoption of Guidelines and Procedures of AIPA Engagement with Externals;
- Resolution on Adoption of Enhanced Concept Note and Terms of Reference of the AIPA Digital Law Library (AIPALync);
- Resolution on Memorandum of Understanding between AIPA and Inter-Parliamentary Assemblies/Associations;
- Resolution on Memorandum of Understanding between AIPA and Development Partner;
- Resolution on Accrediting the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Bahrain as an Observer of ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA);
- Resolution on Accrediting the German Bundestag as an Observer of ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA);
- Resolution on AIPA Distinguished Service Award to H.E. Pehin Dato Haji Judin Haji Asar of Brunei Darussalam;
- Resolution on AIPA Distinguished Service Award to Hon. Mr. Hou Sry of the Kingdom of Cambodia;
- Resolution on AIPA Distinguished Service Award to Hon. Mrs. Kanchanaratt Leevirojana of the Kingdom of Thailand;
- Resolution on Appreciating the Service of H.E. Xaysomphone Phomvihane as President of AIPA;
- Resolution on Expression of Gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Philippines for its Voluntary Contribution of US$20,000.00 to AIPA in 2024; and
- Resolution on Date and Venue of the 46th AIPA General Assembly.
