On July 1, 2024, H.E. HEM Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, visited K&K Pipe Cambodia's factory as part of a series of visits to industrial facilities, emphasizing the company's role in advancing Cambodia's water supply sector.

Minister Vanndy praised K&K Pipe for adhering to international standards and its efforts in reducing imports, creating jobs, and enhancing technical expertise in the water supply sector. "With high-quality pipes like those produced by K&K Pipe, public and private water supply operators can reduce water loss and enhance services for citizens and the industrial sector," said Minister Vanndy. "K&K Pipe is an example of how local enterprises can drive economic growth and innovation in Cambodia."

The visit included inspections of raw material storage, HDPE and LDPE production lines, quality control areas, and finished product storage.

Minister Vanndy encouraged the company to continue its research and development efforts by collaborating with entities of MISTI, including the National Laboratory of Science, Technology, and Innovation, the National Institute of Standards, the Metrology Center of Cambodia, and research institutions to improve quality, standards, and competitiveness in the local and, eventually, regional and global markets. Currently, K&K Pipe has obtained Cambodia Standards (CS) for its products and has been using the national quality infrastructure services.

He suggested that the company explore additional financing options to provide greater access to finance for PWOs (Public Water Operators) to expand their water distribution networks and capacity. Minister Vanndy shared that the Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority (PPWSA) is establishing a training entity and invited K&K Pipe to collaborate and support in offering practical skills training on water supply.

K&K Pipe Cambodia operates nine ISO-standard machines, producing a variety of pipes for sectors such as water supply, agriculture, dredging, telecommunications, and gas networks. With 133 Cambodian workers, the company boasts a monthly production capacity of 5,225,220 meters of HDPE pipes, ranging in diameter from 20mm to 1,000mm.
