PM Highlights Cambodia’s Agricultural Potential

Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has underscored the potential of Cambodian agriculture and shared some perspectives to further strengthen the sector.

Addressing the celebration of the 19th National Fisheries Day, held at Boeung Thom located in Kampong Samnanh village, Mean commune, Prey Chhor district, Kampong Cham province this morning, the Premier noted that the number of farmers has dropped, but agricultural productivity has increased dramatically.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also mentioned about different agricultural models, including contracting farming with partners, modern agricultural communities, etc.

The Prime Minister took the opportunity to reassure all farmers that agricultural land will not be taxed.

“The 7th mandate of the Royal Government will continue the previous mandate’s efforts, further attract more investors, and focus on market orientation for local farmers,” he underlined.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also encouraged agricultural officers to research modern models of farming to introduce to local farmers.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister called for continued high attention to full armyworms ravaging rice and crop fields in the country.
